Hannah Davis and Laura Garcia, students in Lisa Watson’s video production class at South Cobb High School, won third place in the Music Soundtrack onsite competition at the Student Television Network conference.
Hannah and Laura competed against 30 other students; they were provided with a video and were posed with composing and editing a soundtrack in three hours.
More than 1,200 students from 164 schools nationwide attended the event. The Student Television Network is the largest scholastic broadcasting network in the nation and is comprised of high school and middle school students with an active interest in broadcasting. STN networks students and teachers with professionals in the industry to share ideas, experiences and the passion for production. The annual convention, now in it’s 6th year, offers teachers and students outstanding training by professionals, dynamic contests and a number of great opportunities to network with their peers and see new technology.
South Cobb students have attended the conference for five years and have placed in competitions in three of those.
