The Cobb County School District (CCSD) recently hosted two hiring fairs in order to fill more than 500 positions expected for the upcoming 2016-17 school year. The first event was held on March 28, 2016, at Hillgrove High School and drew close to 1000 interested candidates for elementary school job openings. The second event took place at Kennesaw Mountain High School on March 30, 2016, for middle and high school positions with approximately 800 candidates attending. Each school had a table set up in the gym that was staffed by the principal and/or administrators allowing candidates the opportunity to meet face to face, provide a resume, and gather more information.
“We are very excited about how smooth each event went,” said former CCSD Teacher of the Year and current Recruitment Supervisor Tyler Gwynn. “We received wonderful feedback from the candidates and the principals. I saw many of the candidates that I have met on the recruiting trail who traveled from every state in the southeast to be here. There is a lot of talent out there and it’s great to know that they desire to come to Cobb. I want to give a special ‘thank you’ to Hillgrove and Kennesaw Mountain High School’s administrative and custodial staff! They were amazingly accommodating!”
The Cobb County School District is the largest employer in Cobb County with more than 15,000 employees. As the second largest school system in Georgia, CCSD is responsible for educating more than 112,000 students in a diverse, constantly changing suburban environment.
