The Dodgen Middle School Science Olympiad team successfully defended their title at the Georgia Science Olympiad state tournament in March. The Dodgen team edged out Fulton Science Academy to win the title.
The team’s advisors are 8th grade science teachers Debbie Amodeo and Jeffrey Miller. Of the 23 different events that make up the competition, Dodgen won 10 first places and six-second places. Overall, the team scored 63 points—the low score wins.
The team earned their 4th invitation to the national tournament, which is being held this year at University of Wisconsin – Stout on May 20-21. The opening ceremony and award ceremony are being streamed live on www.soinc.org. So make plans to watch! Congratulations to the Dodgen Science Olympiad team!
