Local Cobb Eye Clinics Give Gift of Sight to CCSD Students in Need

While in school, students routinely copy notes that teachers post in the front of the classroom. This task is more difficult for those students, who strain to see the board because they need glasses. Thanks to LensCrafters locations across Cobb, more than 60 Cobb County School District students will now have the glasses they need.

The annual event helps provide the gift of sight to students, who may not otherwise have access to eye care and prescription glasses.

The CCSD students, who were previously identified by school staff as possible candidates for glasses, underwent free eye exams December 13. They also had the opportunity to try on glasses and select a pair at no cost.

While waiting to see the optometrist, the students meticulously looked through the available frames, picking out their favorite styles and, of course, colors, providing the gift of style in addition to the gift of sight.
