When most Georgians hear about the Georgia High School Association (GHSA), they think about prep athletics. What you may not know is that the GHSA also backs competitive activities such as debate, literary competitions and its One Act Play competition for high school thespians!  Cobb’s theatre programs have consistently performed well at the state level and the 2009 participants continued that tradition.

The troupe from Kennesaw Mountain High School finished fourth place overall in the state competition with its performance of “Oliver Twist,” behind groups from Norcross, Milton and Warner-Robins high schools. KMHS qualified for the state competition by taking first place for region 5AAAAA.

Harrison High School’s team finished second to KMHS in the 5AAAAA regional competition. For region 7AAAA, Hillgrove High also placed second, while Osborne High’s troupe placed third in sub-region competition.
