CCSD Spelling Champs Advance to Next Level

Students from eight Cobb County schools are spelling S-U-C-C-E-S-S this week.  They are winners in the Cobb County Spelling Bee held at Kennesaw Mountain High School over the weekend and sponsored by the Cobb County Association of Educators.

The eight students will represent the district at the District 2 Spelling Bee on February 25 at Mabry Middle School. District 2 includes Cherokee,  Dawson, Habersham, Hall, Lumpkin, Towns, Rabun, Union and White counties. In addition to Marietta and Gainesville City Schools.

Here are the results:

1st place – Tritt Elementary, Sophie Fang, 5th grade

2nd place – Lovinggood Middle, James Wyatt, 7th grade

3rd place – Daniell Middle, Jahnvi Bhagat, 8th grade

4th place – Mabry Middle, Hersh Mathur, 7th grade

5th place – Sope Creek Elementary, Adam Bethea, 5th grade

6th place – Dickerson Middle, Emily Yang, 8th grade

7th place – Still Elementary, Catherine Golovin, 5th grade

8th place – Bullard Elementary, Maura Potvin, 5th grade
