The Cobb Schools Foundation, in partnership with the Credit Union of Georgia, announces the Gimme 5 for Education Annual Campaign will take place February 13-17 to help fund education opportunities to elementary, middle and high schools in Cobb County.
“Credit Union of Georgia has been a proud partner of the Cobb County School District since 1960,” said Amanda Arnold, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development with Credit Union of Georgia. “We are thrilled to partner with the Cobb Schools Foundation for their annual Gimme 5 for Education fundraiser. This program embodies the mission of the Credit Union to support our local schools and give back to our community.”
This is the 11th year the Cobb Schools Foundation has held the Gimme 5 for Education Annual Campaign by asking for a gift of $5 to the Foundation through employee giving, community giving and individual campaigns held at all 114 Cobb County School District schools. The local schools have the opportunity to raise funds for specific needs within their schools that would not otherwise be funded. This year, the Credit Union of Georgia has pledged to match local school funds up to $10,000 at the three school levels. The highest grossing elementary, middle and high schools will receive a percentage match from Credit Union of Georgia.
“Our hope is that with the Credit Union matching the local school portion raised by the top schools, this year’s Gimme 5 totals will be the best year yet,” said Arnold.
According to Greg Talsky, President of Cobb Schools Foundation, “We at the Cobb Schools Foundation are constantly striving to engage our business leaders in the Cobb community to help support and advance education programs for Cobb schools. We are very excited that the Credit Union of Georgia is investing in our schools and students through the Gimme 5 for Education Campaign.”
Since 2006, Cobb Schools Foundation has sponsored the Gimme 5 for Education Campaign to raise funds to support all of the 114 schools in Cobb County School District. Through partnerships like with the Credit Union of Georgia and other fundraisers throughout the year, the Cobb Schools Foundation has financially supported specific needs in schools. Among the support: After School Program (ASP) scholarships for students in need; SAT prep classes for high school juniors; senior scholarships; and, Teacher IMPACT Grants to support innovation and creativity in the classroom.
