Cobb County School District Issues Teacher Contracts Early

The Cobb County School District has sent nearly 7,900 contracts to certified teachers for the 2017-2018 school year, reportedly the earliest for any school system in Georgia history and about a week earlier than the district issued them last year.

In addition, for the first time, CCSD is issuing the contracts electronically, which speeds the process and saves an estimated cost savings of $75,000 in time, printing, notarization, and distribution costs.

“Issuing contracts this early accomplishes two vital strategic goals,” said John Adams, CCSD Deputy Chief of Human Resources and Operations. “It allows us to hire earlier than any other district to get ‘first crack’ at the best candidates and permits us to further improve teacher morale and school climate by reducing any uncertainty among our great teachers.”
