The Atlanta Hawks are usually making highlights on the basketball court, but took time out Mar. 29 to make some highlights for students at Brown Elementary School! As part of the ‘Reading to Achieve’ program, several Hawks superstars spent time with classes at Brown, reading stories and encouraging students to focus on their education. Each player was introduced during a school-wide assembly, then players visited individual classrooms to read and answer questions.

The Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers continue to support Cobb schools in a variety of ways. The Hawks provided special ticket discounts to Cobb families earlier this month in support of the Cobb Schools Foundation ‘Gimme 5 for Education’ campaign, helping provide scholarships for Cobb students and grants for Cobb teachers.
