The official food and beverage partner of the Atlanta Braves, Delaware North Sportservice, announced a major donation to Cobb County School District schools through an employment incentive program offered to district employees. The program gave district employees the opportunity to work in part-time positions at SunTrust Park last year. As part of their jobs, they earned money for school programs, which resulted in Delaware North donating a total of $11,900 to be used for a variety of programs throughout the district.
Each employee had the opportunity to secure a potential $1,000 donation for the classroom or school program of his or her choice. Delaware North issued the donation payments to the district and schools at the end of the baseball season.
“The program was a great success with close to $12,000 donated for teacher classrooms. We look forward to continuing and hopefully expanding the program in 2018,” said Kevin Kiger, executive director of Human Resources.
School district employees who participated in the program earned more funding for their school depending on the number of events worked at the ballpark. This included the Braves’ regular season home games, concerts, exhibition games, or any other public events at SunTrust Park.
As a result of the program’s success in 2017, Delaware North will again be offering the incentive program for the 2018 season. To be eligible for the program, employees must meet all Delaware North hiring requirements and be in good standing within the company for a donation payment. Hiring for this season has already begun and interested candidates can apply online at www.atlantasportservice.com.
