Registering Cobb Students Just Got Easier Thanks to New Online Registration Option

In order to simplify the process and make it more convenient for parents, the Cobb County School District is launching an online registration option for new students at seven proof of concept schools: Allatoona High School, Durham Middle School, McClure Middle School, Bullard Elementary School, Frey Elementary School, Lewis Elementary School, and Pickett’s Mill Elementary School.

The online registration for new students being enrolled at those seven schools will be available starting December 3, 2018. After identifying any opportunities to make online registration even more effective for students and parents during the proof of concept period, online registration for all Cobb elementary schools is tentatively scheduled for March 1, 2019, with a full roll out to all schools in Cobb planned for July 2019. Registration for rising kindergarteners begins in March 2019.

“We are excited to offer the online registration option for parents,” said Superintendent Chris Ragsdale. “We’ve been working toward the goal of online registration for several years. It will not only save our parents time, but it will also free up valuable staff resources that can now go toward helping our new students succeed.”

As part of the online registration, the enrolling adult can complete an electronic version of the JBC-5 Registration form that will automatically populate the information into the Cobb Student Information System (CSIS).

Thanks to the new technology, the enrolling adult will be able to register all their students at one time, using their own internet enabled device from the comfort of their home or office.

The enrolling adult is able to complete the registration process by scheduling an appointment at the local school to submit the required documents for each student. Those who are unable to access the internet may contact the local school to schedule an appointment to complete the entire registration process.

The five required documents include birth certificate, Social Security Card, proof of residency, Georgia Immunization Form 3231, and Hearing/Vision/Dental Form 3300. Go here to learn more about the documents that are accepted as part of the registration process.

Parents are able to register students who are between the ages of 5 and 17 on September 1. The Bus Route Finder is available to help parents locate the school where their children will attend based on a street address.
