Board Recognitions December 2018

The following photos were taken at the Cobb County School Board Meeting on December 13, 2018. Chief of Staff Dr. Kevin Daniel presented these students and staff to the Board for special recognition. Excerpts from the recognition announcements are included with the photos below.  

 

The STEM & Innovation Department has been awarded $90,000.00 from Lockheed Martin to support STEM programming throughout the District.  This support will include the STEMapalooza summer conference, Drone Competition teams, after school STEM clubs for underrepresented populations in STEM and robotics teams across the District.  We thank Lockheed Martin for their generous contribution and support of the Cobb County School District STEM program.

The Board and Superintendent recognized the following people: Communications Site Lead for Lockheed Martin Corporation, Mr. Rob Fuller; District Supervisor for STEM & Innovation, Dr. Sally Creel; Professional Learning Specialist for STEM & Innovation, Tania Pachuta; Supervisor of Science, Christian Cali; Supervisor of Mathematics, Michelle Mikes; Supervisor of CTAE, Jacqueline Brown.

The Board recognized Bullard Elementary School for earning the county’s STEM Certification. The Cobb STEM Certification process is designed to recognize schools or programs within schools that support quality STEM-enriched learning opportunities, as well as provide schools with clear guidelines and criteria to support them along their STEM journey. 

The Board and Superintendent congratulated the following people for Bullard’s success:  Principal, Patrice Moore; Instructional Specialist, Carey Callahan; Target Teacher and Teacher of the Year, Kendra Berry, District Supervisor for STEM & Innovation, Dr. Sally Creel, and Supervisor of Science, Christian Cali.

 

The Board recognized McCall Primary School for also earning the county’s STEM Certification. The Cobb STEM Certification process is designed to recognize schools or programs within schools that support quality STEM-enriched learning opportunities, as well as provide schools with clear guidelines and criteria to support them along their STEM journey. 

The Board and Superintendent congratulated the following people for McCall’s success:  Principal, Thomas Farrell; Assistance Principal,  Wendy Embry; Academic Coach, Kelli Stagich; Kindergarten Teacher, Rosemary Rincon; First Grade Teacher, Helena Lofton; Target/STEM Teacher, Maureen Perry; District Supervisor for STEM & Innovation, Dr. Sally Creel; and Supervisor of Science, Christian Cali.
