Smyrna Police Raise $2600 for Belmont Hills Elementary, Thanks to Their Beards

One beard was bright red. Another beard was green. Tiny ornaments dangled from the beards of several police officers. Members of the Smyrna Police Department raised more than $2,600 for Belmont Hills Elementary School as a result of their festive beard competition.

Before they left for the holiday break, Belmont Hills students cast their votes for the officer who they thought had the best beard. The officers entered their beard in the competition with a $150 donation and then raised additional funds to benefit the school. The money raised will go toward the Belmont Hills learning commons.

“It was a great event! We are so thankful for our partnership with the Smyrna Police Department,” said Dr. Ashley Campoli, Belmont Hills principal.
