Cobb County Students Win Top Awards at Georgia Student Technology Competition 

Going up against students from across the state, six students from the Cobb County School District recently earned first place medals at the Georgia Student Technology Competition. An additional nine students placed second.  

More than 1,200 students, grades 3-12, showcased their skills through 850 projects in the statewide technology competition held at Middle Georgia State University in MaconThe main goal of the statewide event is to challenge students to become leaders in a digital age. 

The Cobb students qualified to participate in the state event after placing first in the Cobb Regional Technology Competition in January. At the Cobb regional event, 261 students participated, creating 209 unique projects in 15 different categories across five grade levels. The regional competition, which is one of 17 state qualifying events, was open to students in students in Cobb County, Marietta City, Douglas County, and all private and home schools therein.

The 2020 Cobb Regional Technology Competition will be held January 25, 2020, at Kennesaw Mountain High School. Registration will open in November.
