Kennesaw Elementary’s Beth Finnegan Named Cobb County Library Media Specialist of the Year

Beth Finnegan of Kennesaw Elementary was recently named the 2019 Cobb County Library Media Specialist of the Year.

The Library Media Specialist of the Year award was created to recognize K-12 library media specialists with dynamic, innovative programs and whose instructional collaborations foster student engagement and achievement. Additionally, finalists for the award are leaders within their school buildings, as well as, in the greater community of library media specialists.

School district winners move on to compete for regional and state honors.

“Beth has gained the respect of the Kennesaw community as an instructional leader and mentor to children,” Kennesaw Principal Brett Ward said. “She truly engages students in real-world experiences to help them gain understanding of standards.”

Beth’s Cobb County School District supervisor, Holly Frilot, agrees.

“Beth’s passion for kids and learning is evident in everything she does. She is a master library media specialist, a leader in our community, and a champion for literacy, Frilot explained.
