This year, eight graduates of Cobb Schools earned appointments to the prestigious U.S. military service academies.
“The United States has some of the most prestigious military academies in the world; and, being accepted into one is an amazing achievement. Not only do you have to be exceptional academically, but you must also exhibit excellent leadership and athletic ability. My office takes choosing these outstanding young people very seriously, which is why we have a prestigious academy selection board, with a rigorous application and interview process, to select the best and brightest in the 11th Congressional District,” said U.S. Rep Barry Loudermilk.
U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson offered similar praise for the Georgia students accepted into military academies.
“I commend all of the students who have received appointments to our nation’s prestigious military academies,” Isakson said. “These highly sought-after appointments are a testament to these students’ achievements in the classroom and well beyond, and I thank them for choosing to put their talents to use in service of our nation.”
