Every day, the Cobb County School District Social Work Department helps students and parents access the help and resources they need. Cobb’s social workers partner together with Cobb companies and citizens to increase the support they can provide school families.
One such group is C & S Paving Company, which recently provided aid for families in Cobb Schools experiencing homelessness.
The company donated non-perishable food plus hundreds of personal hygiene products, socks, undergarments, toiletry items, and additional paper products. They also provided stacks of gift cards to help Cobb families.
C & S Paving has committed to providing this level of support on an ongoing basis for Cobb students and families experiencing homelessness, said Ana Murphy, Cobb Schools supervisor of school social workers.
This is not the first time C&S Paving has provided support to Cobb families.
The company has provided school supplies, food, and other items to the following schools: Green Acres Elementary School, Ford Elementary School, Acworth Elementary School, Belmont Hills Elementary School, and Durham middle school.
The Cobb Schools Social Work Department can guide other community groups interested in working together to support Cobb families in need. To learn more about Cobb Schools social workers listen to this podcast.
