Cobb Schools Team Up Against Drugs with Oakland Raiders Darren Waller

On October 10th, Cobb Schools will team up against drugs with Oakland Raiders tight end and Cobb alum Darren Waller for a free event at the North Cobb Performing Arts Center from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Waller will share his inspirational journey that includes his highs and lows and the impact of drug abuse.

The Oakland Raiders player attended Baker Elementary, Awtrey Middle School and North Cobb High School and is using his week off from NFL football to raise awareness and spark action against drug abuse in his home community.

In addition to the keynote speaker, Darren Waller, the event will also feature Acworth Mayor Tommy Allegood, Mike Linch from NorthStar Church, North Cobb High School Head Football Coach Shane Queen, Falcons Cheerleader Ambassadors, and Missy Owen with the Davis Direction Foundation.

Community partners and sponsors including Chick-fil-A are helping support the event and provide food for participants, which organizers expect to include hundreds. Some of the other sponsors include ATLytics, Data Science for Good, Days Chevrolet, Georgia Funeral Services, David Grant State Farm, Baker Elementary PTA and Summit Church.
