Thanks to Thursday’s vote by the members of the Cobb County School District Board of Education, the Eastvalley School community is one step closer to seeing the visual renderings for the new Eastvalley replacement facility. The Board approved the architect for the new school building, which will feature 61 instructional units compared to 36 at the current facility.
The Eastvalley replacement facility is expected to span 136,110 square feet and accommodate approximately 962 K-5 students. The new school will be located on the former campus of East Cobb Middle School, across the street from Wheeler High School.
“We are excited by what is ahead for the Eastvalley school community. We are once again going to make a new state-of-the-art facility available to Cobb students and staff, which will continue our legacy as the best place to teach, lead, and learn,” said Superintendent Chris Ragsdale.
Additionally, the Board voted to rename the restructured Riverside Intermediate School to City View Elementary School, which will welcome students in August 2020.
The Board members also approved personnel changes including the appointment of the principal of the new Clay-Harmony Leland Elementary School scheduled to open in August 2020.
