Durham Middle School Serves as Leader for Helping Others

“Not for ourselves, but for others.” That is the motto for Durham Middle School, a motto the students and staff demonstrate throughout the school year.

The Durham Middle School students and staff members recently donated more than 7,100 items to the Thanks for Giving food drive sponsored by the Center for Family Resources.

Through the Durham school community’s generosity, they were helping local families in Cobb County and possibly even ones in their own school.

Out of the 40+ schools that participated in the food drive, Durham earned second place for the number of items donated.

“We were excited to be personally thanked by Lee Smith, the Vice President of Operations from the Center for Family Resources and Mark Chastain, the Thanks for Giving, Co-Chair,” said Durham school counselor Margaret Crandall.
