New Principal Profile Q&A: Angela Whitehead, Clay-Harmony Leland Elementary School

Question: Why are you excited about being the first principal of the new Clay-Harmony Leland Elementary School and what are your plans to bring the two former school communities together? 

Answer: “I am excited to be the first Principal at Clay-Harmony Leland because it is an opportunity to merge two amazing school communities into one for the 2020-2021 school year.  

Building relationships is the most important part of bringing people together so that will be at the top of my agenda for the upcoming school year. Our community can expect to see opportunities for the staff, students, and families to get together and learn about each other. We all have gifts and talents, and we will work together to utilize them, so our students get the best learning experience Cobb County has to offer.”   

Question: What does student success look like for you?  

Answer: Student success is helping each student realize their potential and then equipping them with the tools they need so they reach their potential.” 

Question: What do you like most about being an educator? 

Answer: “What I like most about being an educator is the fact that each day I get a new opportunity to impact someone’s life. If I add up all the days of every school year that I’ve been an educator, it equals up to thousands of opportunities to change lives. What a blessing to work in such a profession!” 

Question: Outside school, where might students, parents, or staff members run into you? ​

Answer: “Outside of school students, parents, and staff members may run into me at Home Depot because I love doing home projects or TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or Ross because I love to shop!”
