Question: What does student success look like for you?
Answer: “Student success in middle school is about growth and therefore looks different for every student. At McClure Middle School, academic success is about growing every year in every subject. Whether a student starts the year at the top of the class or has struggled, they will be able to grow and therefore find success at McClure. Additionally, success in middle school means growing socially and emotionally each day. We are better today than we were yesterday, and we will be better tomorrow than we are today.”
Question: What do you like most about being an educator?
Answer: “The best thing about being an educator is working with students every day. I believe there is no time in a student’s life they need guidance academically, socially, and emotionally more than they do in middle school, and I love being involved in this process. The work we do as educators impacts lives, and I am proud to be part of a team that believes in the power of building positive relationships with students so that we can meet their needs every day.”
Question: Outside school, where might students, parents, or staff members run into you?
Answer: “When I am not at work, my wife and I love hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors. You may also catch me at a local sporting event or concert. Of course, you will see me at many events showcasing our Mavericks off of our campus as well!”
