Lassiter High School was in full swing on August 2 for the annual GO Day as students and parents arrived on campus to get ready for the new school year. Although things looked a little different after months of construction, one thing remains unchanged in this school community: the Lassiter Trojan Spirit is still going strong.
This year’s annual GO Day included Trojan Nation partnering with the American Red Cross with a community blood drive to remember Ryan Aschenbach and honor Chris Hietzman. Lassiter High also recently teamed with Menchies for additional blood drives in honor of the Aschenbach and Heitzman families.
For each donor who gave blood, a “Thinking of You” card will be delivered to both families. The Lassiter community collected a total of 62 pints of blood. One pint of blood can save up to three lives, so Trojan Nation potentially saved up to 186 lives.
