Durham Middle School recently announced that the school has received a Georgia Council of the Arts grant. This grant will enable Durham to have local artist, Ms. Pam Beagle-Dareska, in residence for six weeks as she and Durham students create and paint a mural about the history of our campus.
Ms. Beagle-Dareska will be working with art teacher Helen Colvin and Durham art students to gather information on the rich history of the Durham Middle School site. When sufficient information is compiled, Ms. Beagle-Dareska will assist the students in working with the preliminary drawings to create the basis for the mural.
The mural will be unveiled to the public and dedicated following its completion.
