Kennesaw Mountain High’s Nicholas Flont Chosen As Regional Finalist for Young Epidemiology Scholars Competition

Congratulations to Nicholas Flont of Kennesaw Mountain High School, who was chosen as a Regional Finalist for the Young Epidemiology Scholars Competition!  Nick won $2,000 and an expenses-paid trip to the national event in Washington, DC next month. His senior magnet research project posed the question, “What is the effect of obesity on total knee replacements?”

Sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The College Board, The Young Epidemiology Scholars (YES) Competition for original student research is designed to inspire talented students to investigate the many behavioral, biological, environmental and social factors that affect health and, based upon this knowledge, to identify ways to improve the health of the public.
