Wheeler High School’s CircuitRunners robotics team dazzled in the FIRST Technology Challenge Qualifier Nov. 2-3 at the Milton Center in Alpharetta. The team’s robot advanced to the final matches, losing in the last match by 2 points. The team scored high for all awards, including the Innovate, Design, Motivate and Think awards; resulting in a win for Wheeler of the highest award given at FTC competitions – the Inspire Award. The Inspire Award is given to FTC Teams seen as role models who excel not only in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) field but also in their inspiring efforts to spread their enjoyment of STEM to the community. This award qualifies the team for the state championship event for a fourth consecutive year.
