Cobb Mentoring Matters Program Receives Support From Aaron’s Lease-To-Own

Cobb Mentoring Matters is an initiative of the Cobb County School District’s (CCSD) School Social Work Department, currently in its second year of providing stellar mentors to the students in our schools. Cobb Mentoring Matters has positioned itself as a turn-key mentoring program that allows businesses, civic groups and individuals to participate in the education of our students through a school-based, one- on-one match relationship or through monetary or in-kind gifts.

The program recently received a major boost from lease-to-own retailer Aaron’s, in the amount of $15,000! When one of the company’s employees recently shared her mentorship experience with Cobb Mentoring Matters and related some of the program needs, Aaron’s saw an opportunity to make an impact.

“I believe it is our responsibility to positively impact the lives of all individuals we encounter. It is especially important to the youth that are willingly and enthusiastically lining up saying that they need and want mentorship,” said Brett Ruffino, vice president of  Aaron’s in Marietta. “Personally, I’ve been one of these youth in search of mentorship and therefore I understand the opportunity we all have to help guide our youth and assist them in achieving their greatest potential. At Aaron’s, we are committed to serving our communities and positively impacting the lives of those we serve. We are honored to partner with the Cobb Mentoring Matters campaign.”
