AHA Names “Fit Friendly Schools”

Several Cobb schools were recently recognized as “Fit Friendly Schools” by the American Heart Association.The Gold Level Award Winners were: Bells Ferry Elementary, Big Shanty Intermediate, Blackwell Elementary, Griffin Middle, Mountain View Elementary. The Platinum Award Winner was:  Garrison Mill Elementary School, the only school in Cobb County to achieve Platinum level recognition.  Garrison Mill Principal Kyle Geisler and Coach John Bobo will be presented with a plaque in a meeting to be held soon.  This is a wonderful recognition and each of these schools are now listed on the AMA National Honor Roll.
