Mark your calendar. A Cobb County public school band will appear in a nationally televised parade.
The Walton High School Marching Raider Band will be officially invited to perform in the 2015 Tournament of Roses Parade on August 16th. The band will debut their program and perform for Tournament of Roses Association President Richard L Chinen and his wife Kimberly. The Band will march on New Year’s Day in front of a live audience of 1 million spectators and will be broadcast to approximately 400 million viewers in over 100 countries around the world.
The award-winning Walton marching band was chosen from a pool of more than 100 parade applicants nationwide. It will be one of 20 bands performing in the annual New Year’s Day event.
The band has performed in several parades including the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Tournament of Roses Parade.
