Pope High School Raises $23,480 for Cancer Research


Pope High School students in Mr. Haskin’s Leadership Class set out to raise money for the Rally Foundation- 4Quarters 4Research this fall. In past fundraisers for the foundation, Pope students raised raised $4,000 in 2006 and $6,800 in 2007, so the class’s 2008 goal was to raise $10,000. The Greyhounds went above and beyond their goal, raising over $23, 480 by selling black Rally t-shirts for a football game “black out,” donating money during lunch, and collecting donations prior to the football game vs. Kell.


Just before gametime, Aflac insurance graciously matched the proceeds collected. Pope principal Rick Beaulieu is pictured above with representatives from the Rally Foundation.
