Three Russell Elementary Students Head to District Science Fair

Scientific Method? Check. Experiments? Check. Russell Elementary Science Fair? Check! Russell Elementary hallways were abuzz with science talk this week. The school’s science fair was a huge success, with thirty-seven students from grades K-5 participating. A crowd of over 100 came to see what hypotheses the young scientists were testing, and twenty-five community-based judges evaluated the final projects. Three excited students are now moving on to compete against the best in the district at the Cobb County Elementary Science Fair, March 7th at Walton H.S. The three are: Haley Jones, Amina Turkovic and Jamison Bodner. Jones tested how much DNS should could extract from fruit. Turkovic questioned whether brain disorders can affect memory. Bodner wondered which items rust fastest. Great questions, great experiments, great achievements. Student success at Russell ES – it’s scientific!
