Georgia’s First Lady Sandra Deal and her education team learned first-hand about STEAM at Wheeler High School.
Deal’s team saw the full range of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math initiatives, speaking with students who modeled activities and lesson components.
Wheeler High School was awarded as a 2015 AP STEM Achievement School, 2015 AP STEM School, and 2015 AP Humanities School. The school’s Science Olympiad team recently competed at the State Competition at Emory University, and the school’s FIRST Robotics Competition Team competed in the state’s Classic Regional Competition, showing the wide-ranging expanse of STEAM-related learning ongoing at Wheeler.
Wheeler’s Center for Advanced Studies is STEM certified and STEAM inspired – offering a magnet program for Cobb students through a direct focus on science, math and technology. Learn more about Wheeler’s Center for Advanced Studies here.
