McCall Primary Pet Club

Puppy Day – Students made dog bones and donated puppy food to two different organizationsPet rescue is on the minds of McCall Primary students. The pets are the first priority of the school’s Pet Club. First grade students meet the first Friday of every month to discuss the needs of different animal rescue groups.  The students then decide how they can help.  So far this school year,  McCall Primary students have collected towels and blankets for animal transports, collected puppy food, and have made sock play toys for kittens and cats.  The Pet Club works mainly with Road Trip Home Animal Rescue and Etowah Animal Rescue, but has also donated food to Cooper’s Cupboard.  In this service- and leadership-oriented club, students have had the opportunity to meet author Ed Payne and his rescue dog Molly. Also, they recently learned of a need for additional puppy food for foster families.   The students decided our last community service project for this school year would be to collect puppy food. If you have resources to support the club, please contact Wendy Embry, Assistant Principal at McCall Primary School.
