GRAMMY Music Educator Award Quarterfinals Announced

Two of Cobb’s very own music educators, Jody Miller, Band Director from McCleskey Middle School, and Carol Doemel, Orchestra Director from Lassiter High School, have been selected as one of the quarterfinalists for the GRAMMY Music Educator Award. This award was established to recognize current educators who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools. Semifinalists will be announced in September and finalists will be notified in December. One winner is selected from 10 finalists and will be flown to host city of the GRAMMY Awards to accept and attend the GRAMMY’s, as well he/she will receive $10,000 honorarium along with $10,000 grant for his/her school.
